Gwanda State University successfully held its inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation Science and Technology Development in Harare, on Thursday 23 February 2023.
The meeting was held both virtually and physically.
The holding of the AGM is in compliance with the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act, Chapter [10:31], No 4 of 2018. Annual General Meetings (AGMs) are held annually in order to present detailed information about the University’s performance and to deal with matters such as adopting the previous year’s financial statements and appointing or re-appointing members of the Councillors and the Auditor(s) among other issues.
The meeting which was chaired by the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education Innovation Science and Technology Development Prof d.r Amon Murwira adopted the Audited Financials and Audit statement reports of the Auditors for the Financial Year ended 31 December 2021.
The thirteen Council members namely Mrs Mabel Elaine Mwamuka, Eng H. Sijabuliso Ncube, Mr Sydney Mandidi, Mrs Verenica Mutiro, Mr Courage, Mr Courage Shonhiwa, Ms Stella Nkomo, Mrs Tilibali Moyo, Mrs Priscillar Musundire, Prof Andrew Siwela, Prof Godfrey Dzinomwa, Mr Cletos Masawi, Ms Priscillar Nkala and Mrs Sithembisiwe Ndlovu were re-appointed.
