                                               Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant post:

    1. REGISTRAR’S DEPARTMENT 

                       1.1. Senior Assistant Registrar, Admissions and Student Records/Examinations (1 Post) 

     Qualifications

    • The applicant must be a holder of a Master’s Degree in Social Science from a recognised and reputable institution of higher learning.
    • Professional training in people management, counselling or Postgraduate Diploma in Education is an added advantage.

     Experience and Qualities 

    • Five years relevant post qualification experience. 
    • University experience in Admissions and Record Keeping office as well as Examinations Office would be a distinct advantage.
    • The individual must be hard working and should also demonstrate high level of integrity and honesty.
    • Must possess excellent technical, analytical, problem solving, communication, consultative, multi-tasking and team-working skills. 

     Duties and Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be responsible mainly for the following; among other duties: 

    • To be in charge of student recruitment, admissions and registration.
    • Design, distribute and receive application forms in collaboration with Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs.
    • Design and facilitate the posting of student recruitment advertisements.
    • Issue admission letters to admitted students. 
    • Register admitted students and maintain their register.
    • Be in charge of the students’ database and all statistics.
    • Perform Secretariat duties to University committees.  

     

    1.2.  Administrative Assistant, Admissions and Student Records (1 Post)

    Qualifications

    The applicant must hold a first degree in Records Management or related field. 

     Experience and Qualities

    • One year relevant post qualification experience.
    • Computer literacy particularly in presentation of statistical data.
    • The candidate must possess excellent communication and technical skills.
    • A high level of confidentiality is a prerequisite. 

     Duties and Responsibilities

    • Performing a wide variety of administrative tasks including data entry, filing and producing admissions reports.
    • Providing customer care to clients. 
    • Coordinating day-to-day office operations.
    • Assisting in the upkeep of the students’ data base system and compilation of statistics.
    • Disseminating information to students.
    • Providing service excellence through courteous, accessible and professional engagement. 

     

    1.3.   Administrative Assistant, Examinations (1 Post)

    Qualifications

    The applicant must hold a first degree in Management or Education or any related field. 

     Experience and Qualities

    • One year relevant post qualification experience.
    • Knowledge of management of examinations is a distinct advantage.
    • Computer literacy particularly in management of confidential documents is a prerequisite.
    • The candidate must possess excellent communication and technical skills.
    • A high level of confidentiality is a prerequisite. 

     Duties and Responsibilities

    • Photocopying and packaging examinations papers
    • Making special arrangements for students’ with medical and other special needs.
    • Assist in drafting the examinations timetable.
    • Securing and making provision for all examination material.
    • Sending and receiving papers from external examiners.
    • Organising the issuance of interim transcripts, final transcripts and certificates.
    • Maintaining an efficient filing system associated with all aspects of examinations. 

     

     1.4. Administrative Assistant, Student Affairs (1 Post)

    Qualifications

    • The applicant must be a holder of a first degree in Social Science or Business Management degree from a recognised and reputable institution of higher learning.
    • A qualification in people management is a distinct advantage. 

     Experience and Qualities

    • One year relevant post qualification experience.
    • Computer literacy particularly in presentation of statistical data.
    • Experience in working with young people or general public is a distinct advantage.
    • The candidate must possess excellent communication and technical skills.
    • A high level of confidentiality is a prerequisite. 

     Duties and Responsibilities

    • Providing customer care services to students and visitors.
    • Co-ordinating and performing general administration, operational and clerical tasks.
    • Providing administrative support to all student support services (sss) functions.
    • Providing service excellence through courteous, accessible and professional engagement. 

     

    1.5.    Secretary/Receptionist (1 Post) 

     Qualifications

    • A minimum of a National Diploma in Secretarial Studies or equivalent.
    • 5 Ordinary Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.
    • Computer literacy is a must. 

     Experience and Qualities

    • One year relevant post qualification experience
    • Candidates must be of mature disposition with initiative, be able to work with minimum supervision, and be proficient in English and local languages.  

     Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manning the University reception.
    • Providing secretarial services as required. 

     

    1.6. Janitors, Student Affairs (2 Posts)

    Qualifications 

    • Five Ordinary level passes including English Language 

     Experience and Qualities 

    • Experience in working with young adults is a distinct advantage.
    • The individual must be energetic and highly motivated to effectively deal with student issues. 

     Duties and Responsibilities

    • Cleaning student halls of residence.
    • Monitoring and reporting defects of buildings and fittings as well as issues that might compromise student security and safety.
    • Maintaining grounds around the halls of residence.
    • Facilitating checking-in and checking-out of students.
    • Keeping record of sporting and games equipment.
